Plugins

What Plugins are and how they are used in Workbooks.

Cogs

Integrations with Workbooks are often facilitated by the use of Scripts, Processes and configuration changes, which whilst not difficult to implement, can often involve many steps to get set up. Plugins are designed to automate these steps by installing the entire integration for you via a script.

They run as Web Processes allowing the potential to create interactive install wizards so that the script installs different versions of the integration depending on the decisions made during the wizard.

For a script to be recognised as a plugin, it must follow the following naming convention: ‘Plugin [Integration Name] Installer’. If it doesn’t, then the script will not be selectable from the list of plugins. Plugins can be installed from either My Scripts or from the global Script Library.

A few examples of Plugins we support:

Our Google Calendar Sync integration makes use of the plugin functionality. The plugin installer script creates several processes on your database needed to facilitate the integration, making the whole configuration procedure simple.
